Grandpa never sets an alarm

He's up before the moon starts sleeping

Put his pearl snap shirt and his Wranglers on

He was shuffling across the kitchen

Yeah, and once a week, usually on Wednesday

He meets his buddies at the local cafe

Now and then, he lets me tag along

And I do all the listening

They don't talk about politics

Banking or religion

And it's better not to dwell on who

Is dying and not living

From droughts to wars

They've for sure

Seen their share of pain

And that's why old men sit around
